With illusions running wild and ancient riddles resurfacing, she is soon forced to rely on none other than Liam, her annoying yet alluring childhood rival, to untangle the truth.
But when strange attacks begin to target Audra’s fellow ruling houses, her secret quest quickly devolves into something much deadlier – a callous game, with the power to rip her city, and family, apart a second time. A game she must win.

Adult epic fantasy romance
Rhiannon, a gifted míandhe, is summoned by the Kingdom of Velínor to investigate mysterious, luminous runes that have appeared deep in the glacierstone mines. She quickly suspects they are connected to the Fractured Prophecy, and may alter its meaning altogether. But in the treacherous Velínian court, everyone has an agenda, and before long, her findings stir ancient forces into motion. Twenty-five years later, the borders of Velínor have been magically sealed for two decades – no one can get in or out.
Embla has grown up isolated with Rhiannon, who never speaks of the past, or why she was banished from Velínor on the night of Embla’s birth. When Rhiannon dies, Embla swears to reunite her mother with the gods she loved. Binding her mother’s soul to the crystal she always wore, she sets out across the sea to break through the sealed borders – no matter the cost.
As Rhiannon navigates the Velínian Court and Embla strives to break through the borders, slowly the truth of the past reveals itself, along with the dangers edging ever closer in the present. Because all those years ago, Rhiannon stole something invaluable. And soon, the secrets in her mother’s past won’t just be haunting Embla – they’ll be hunting her.
